Trip to Crottendorf

On december 4th, the SMD Chemnitz went by bus to Crottendorf for a Christmas concert in the Evangelical Lutheran Church. There were about 20 people from different countries such as Egypt, India, China, Pakistan, Korea, Nepal, etc. We started at noon by bus and arrived in Crottendorf around 14:30. Once there, we went to the Christmas market to warm up and eat together. The Christmas market was small but not so crowded and very cheap, to the delight of all the students :). While we were eating, there was also traditional live music. At 16:00 we made our way to the church where the Christmas concert was to take place.
Once there, we received a warm welcome.
Various music groups of the local church community were involved in the concert: Kurrende, Kammerchor, Kantorei (which are different kinds of choirs), trombone choir and recorder ensemble. Besides classical church music and some contemporary compositions, also a Latin mass was performed. 
After the concert we had to wait a bit for our bus back to Chemnitz. To our great joy, we didn't have to wait outside, but were invited by church members to have stollen and coffee in the building next to the church. We were all very happy about the warm hospitality. At 18:30 we went back to Chemnitz. All in all, it was a wonderful trip.
